As a counselor my job is to assist the students in the area of academic development, personal/social development, and career development. I want to help students be as successful as possible while at Scotland Schools and beyond!

ACT Test Dates
Register for the test at "act.org"
Registration deadlines are usually about a month before the test date.
I recommend taking the test in April of your Junior Year so you have covered most of the material that will be covered on the test.

February 9, register by Jan 11
April 13, register by March 8
June 8, register by May 3
July 13, register by June 14

*Each date also has a late registration option, there will be a fee involved
ASVAB Testing
All juniors will be taking the ASVAB test on January 16th, starting first thing in the morning and ending around lunch. The ASVAB is the military entrance exam, but it also shows you your strengths and skills that will be helpful for deciding what careers and areas of study are a good fit for you.
Mentoring
If you are a junior or senior and are interested in mentoring an elementary student, contact Mrs. Fritz. You need to have good grades, enjoy working with kids, have a study hall, and you must be a person of good character. You are required to meet with the student at least once a week for 20-30 minutes.
Financial Aid Night
Financial Aid Night will be October 23rd at 6pm in the 119 computer lab.
This will be a workshop where you sit down with your parents and fill out your FAFSA form from start to finish. There will be financial aid experts available to help you fill it out properly. Please be sure to attend!

FAFSA forms are available to fill out starting October 1st.

Each school has a FAFSA priority deadline. You can view a chart with most SD Institutions priority dates at the "College and Career " tab of my website.
College Application Week
The week of October 29-November 2nd all seniors can apply to 3 South Dakota Colleges or Universities for free. This opportunity is available only during these dates. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Fritz.
College Fair and Career Expo
